MANAV MANDIR
(A home for the destitute and orphan children)

Manav mandir is an institution conceived by Acharya Sri Roop Chandraji Maharaj and is devoted to Sadhana (discipline) and Seva (service). In the direction of bringing a new era and providing real education to the needy section of the society, a GURUKUL was started on Mahavir Jayanti Day in 1993 in the temple building, in Roop Vihar, New Delhi, for destitute and orphan children.

In the Gurukul we are providing all possible amenities of:
a. Comfortable living
b. Medical facilities
c. Balanced diet
d. Facilities of education
e. Painting, Music
f.  A good library
g. Recreational facilities etc.

EDUCATION

Children are given moral education with the regular educational curriculum. Recognizing education as the powerful tool that has the power to transform the lives of these children, companies like 1E.com have stepped in to empower them with this vital tool by undertaking to finance services of teachers and provide teaching material. Today these children are attending classes based on regular education curriculum. In addition to academics, physical sciences like yoga are also taught.

FUTURE PLANS

We plan to expand the activities and provide our sources to more children by constructing 10 cottages to accommodate 20 children in each cottage. The same would cost Rs 5 Lakhs per cottage. To impart education on Gurukul lines we have decided to set up Vardhaman Vidya Peeth on model lines from class 1st to senior secondary level for which a humble beginning has already been made.

SPONSORSHIP

If we continue getting sponsorship for maintenance of children and financial support for other programmes, we plan to multiply Gurukuls and Vardhaman Vidya Peetth, in other parts of the country.
